The first part of this series in the January, 1996 issue examined the different types of storage and how they must be designed to fit the needs of the outplanting season. In January, 1997, we looked at storage terminology and how to schedule harvesting. In this final installment in the series, we'll discuss pre-storage treatments,types of packaging, the physiological effects of storage,and post-storage handling.
