Elements Required for Zylem Specific Expression are Located Downstream of a Loblolly Pine Gine

Here, we will present the results of our attempts to isolate elements capable of conferring xylem-specific expression in loblolly pine for use in genetic manipulation of wood properties. We initiated our search for xylem-specific regulatory elements by isolating clones of two genes preferentially expressed in differentiating xylem of loblolly pine.
