Breeding Techniques for White Oak

Because it is a major species on vast acreages in the Eastern UnitedStates, many organizations are considering improvement programs for white oak (Quercus alba L.). Such programs will require information on techniques for breeding, and particularly on extraction and storage of pollen and controlled pollination. This paper describes a series of limited trials in which some techniques for breeding white oak were developed.
