Breeding Strategy

The development of breeding strategy is of paramount importance before breeding is begun in any given species. The purpose of improvement, degree and pattern of variation, and species biology are primary factors to be considered. The choice of the breeding method is another aspect to be taken into account, and selection, hybridization and mutation breeding are discussed here.
