The specific objectives of the USDA workshop "Alternatives to Methyl Bromide" were to: • Evaluate the existing and potential alternatives to methyl bromide uses as a postharvest commodity and quarantine treatment and as a soil fumigant to control agricultural pests. • Identify research needs and priorities to develop effective alternative pest management strategies that do not rely on the use of methyl bromide.
