Containerized Loblolly Pines Promising for Erosion Control Planting

Loblolly pine seedlings grown and planted in pointed plastic containers survived as well as but grew less than bare-root seedlings when outplanted on erosive sites in northern Mississippi. They were hand planted about twice as fast as bare-root seedlings.
