Adventures In Marketing: California Department of Forestry and Fire
This paper discusses initial marketing efforts for a nursery program that includes a seed processing and seedling production facility. Ideas are presented on positioning products and services, factors involved in pricing, some specific marketing activities, and forms/procedures that had to be developed in response to budget constraints. While efforts to increase revenue were relatively successful, it remains to be seen if efforts were soon enough and large enough for political viability of the nursery program under increasing budget pressures.
