Operational Solutions to Water Management Problems in Ornamental Nurseries
State regulations to protect water quality have been established for Oregon container nurseries. These nurseries are presently drawing up plans, building water containment facilities and investigating water recycling, sub-irrigation systems and other water management practices to eliminate runoff. All of these systems provide opportunity for disease spread through the recirculating water. Methods for dealing with this problem are discussed.
