Approaches to Integrated Pest Management of Fusarium Root Disease in Container-Grown Conifer Seedlings

An integrated approach to management of Fusarium root disease in container-grown conifer seedlings includes reducing levels of pathogen inocu-lum within the seedling growing environment, enhancing host resistance to infec-tion and disease development, encouraging organisms competing with or antago-nistic toward pathogenic Fusarium spp., and minimizing use of chemical fungicides whenever possible. Integrating these procedures into standard grow-ing regimes should greatly reduce impact of Fusarium root disease.
