Nursery Cultural Practices That Improve Hardwood Seedling Root Morphology

Three years of work at the state forest nurseries in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Ohio have shown that bed density control, undercutting, and seed source control can influence the root system morpholgy of red and white oak and of black walnut seedlings.
