Survival and Height Growth of Loblolly Pine Seedlings as Influenced by Packing, Storage and Drought

The effects of nursery packing and storage methods on survival and height growth of loblolly pine seedlings were analyzed over a 3-year period. No clear-cut statistically significant difference in survival was detected among either packing methods or storage methods. Seedling height growth was also not significantly affected by packing method or storage. Lack of adequate rainfall was far more detrimental to seedling survival and height growth during the first two growing seasons.
