Herbicides for controlling weeds at the Albaquerque Forest Tree Nursery

In 1982, a study was initiated at Albuquerque, New Mexico, to test oxyfluorfen, bifenox, and propazine for controlling grasses and forbs in ponderosa pine nursery beds. Propazine was highly toxic to pine seedlings. Oxyfluorfen at a rate of 0.5 pound ai per acre controlled vegetation without damage to tree seedlings.
