Contrasting Approaches to Containerized Seedling Production - The Prairie Provinces

Six containerized seedling facilities in the prairie provinces produce at least two crops annually for a total of 19 million conifer seedlings. Differences among facilities with respect to container type, growth medium,light intensity, photoperiod, temperature, and mineral nutrition during the growth and conditioning phases result in variable but acceptable planting stock for reforestation.
