Biological and Operational Considerations in the Development of Integrated Handling and Transportation Systems

A number of the larger nurseries in Sweden have developed systems and hardware for integrating the handling, packaging and storage of containerized planting stock in the nursery with its delivery and distribution in the field. Biological and operational factors to be considered in the development of integrated handling systems are reviewed and discussed.
