Containerized Seedlings: Key to Forestation in Hawaii

A forestation system based on the Hawaii Dibbling Tube containers has been developed in Hawaii. Plantings of containerized seedlings of both native and introduced species have had consistently higher survival and growth rates than those of bare-root seedlings. Although the technology of the system has been developed, more research is needed to ensure optimum seedling quality.
