The Challenge for Forestry in the Environmental Movement
As an introduction to my colleague's presentation, Bob Engelhard has spent a portion of the past two summers studying the activities of foresters in the state of Baden-Wutttemburg in the Black Forest of West Germany. The new direction which German forestry has taken in recent years has been an eye-opener for those of us who have had the opportunity to witness these trends. It is most appropriate because German forestry has provided a great deal of our forestry heritage.
