Insecticides for Pine Seed Orchard Insect Control

Today forest nurserymen and seed orchardists have an almost overwhelming array of insecticides from which to select. Despite the variety of available insecticides, many nurserymen understandably continue to use the time-tested chlorinated hydrocarbons, such asDDT, BHC, and chlordane. Even though these older pesticides have helped to solve many of your insect control problems, I should like to direct your attention to some of the newer insecticides, particularly systemics, and bring you up-to-date on our current research on the chemical control of seed orchard insects.
