Limiting Factors: Pests

The definition of a pest is subjective, however; an organism becomes a pest when it has a negative effect on humans or their material goods. Many nursery pests do not cause problems in the natural environment, but under the ideal nursery conditions, these normally innocuous organisms can cause disease.
