Atlantic White Cedar Symposium
Theme: Imperiled Ecosystems in a Changing Climate
The 2016 Atlantic White Cedar Symposium will focus on the species' habitat in New England region of the Unites States where restoration of the species and its habitat are in full swing. The Symposium will highlight this work and take participants to see significant restoration sites and research labs. In recent years this triennial symposium has addressed approaches used to characterize and/or monitor Atlantic White-Cedar (AWC) ecosystem hydrology, soils, climate change impacts, biogeochemical cycling, nutrient fluxes, plant physiological ecology, biodiversity, genetics, pathology, wildlife biology, threatened and endangered species, fisheries and aquatic resources, silvicultural techniques, paleoecology, bird conservation, taxonomy, culture practices in nurseries and the field, regional issues, and ecological conservation/integrity at the local and landscape scale.
