Seed heads were run through the Westrup Brush Machine using medium stiff brushes,a coarse shell (size 10 wire), at speed 11. Two seedlots were run 4 times through the machine, with one seedlot being run through the machine without the vacuum. The third seedlot was run through the machine two times. The seeds were aspirated at 0.01 inches of water column one time, 3 times, and 5 times. Seeds were cleaned with screen 16x16 twice and soil sieve 0.278 and 0.394 were used numerous times. Second seedlot was cleaned with a 42/1000" slotted screen. |
