Seeds are collected between September 9th and November 17th. Seed is 3mm long and dark brown to red, narrowly elliptic at maturity. Collect entire flower heads; flower detaches easily from stalk when seed is ripe. |

| Growing Area Preparation/ Annual Practices for Perennial Crops: |
Shadehouse. Sowing Method: Direct Seeding. Seeds are sown in containers 2"x7" tubes (Deepot 16) containing standard potting mix of peat moss, fir bark, perlite, and sand. Seeds are surface sown and sown at the rate of 5 seeds per container. Containers are watered in with an automatic irrigation system. Seeds are sown on April 1st. % Germination: 65% |

Seeds germinate 30 days after sowing. Extra seedlings are transplanted 30 days after germination to individual containers 2"x7" tubes (Deepot 16) containing standard potting mix of peat moss, fir bark, perlite, and sand. Transplant Survival averages 80%. |
