Biography:
I've spent my career working in the cycle of landscape scale reforestation and restoration; from seed collection, to seed extraction, working in nurseries, and on the landscape seeding and planting. I joined the USDA Forest Service working in silviculture focused on operations on the ground, including planting and cone collection. After gaining some nursery experience, I went back into silviculture before moving on to the USFS Region 6 Bend Seed Extractory. I was the manager at the extractory for 9 years and the assistant manager for 2 years prior to that. I currently work as a seed specialist within the National Forest System helping the USFS National Nursery System and land managers with the collection and processing of high-quality seed for use on public lands.
I went to forestry tech school at Central Oregon Community College receiving my AASc degree in Forest Resources Technology. I received my BSc degree in Natural Resources from Oregon State University and my MSc in Forest Resources from the University of Idaho.
