Large lot, 38 pounds, hand collected into paper yard bags.

METHOD OF CLEANING: Seed lot is first processed, to remove seed from stems and deawn, using a Westrup Model HA 400 brush machine, with 3 row brushes, a #18 mantel with pins (to prevent clogging and keep the lot moving through the machine), at medium speed. Seed was then air-screened, to remove chaff and inert material, using a Clipper Eclipse, Model 324, with a top screen: 1/18 x 1/4 slot, 2nd screen: 1/18 x 1/4 slot and bottom screen: 1/25 round or blank, medium speed and medium air. Number of Seeds per Pound: 150,200, Purity: 98%, X-Ray 100 Seeds: 95% Filled

Storage: Freezer Storage

Squirreltail is a challenge to clean due to long reflexed awns, which aid in dispersal, that make this seed "flighty" and difficult to feed into the brush machine.
